เกลนน์ ฟราย (ดิ อีเกิลส์) และ เจ.ดี. เซาเธอร์ ร่วมกันแต่งเพลง Last In Love ตอนปลายทศวรรษ 1970 นิโคเล็ทท์ ลาร์สัน เพื่อนพ้องในกลุ่มศิลปินเวสต์โคสต์นำไปบันทึกเสียงอยู่ในอัลบั้ม Nicolette เมื่อปี 1978
อีกสองปีต่อมา เซาเธอร์ จึงนำมาใส่ไว้ในอัลบั้ม You’re Only Lonely และในปี 1992 จอร์จ สเตรท หนึ่งในนักร้องคันทรีที่ประสบความสำเร็จที่สุด และมียอดขายแผ่นเสียงมากที่สุด นำมาใส่ในหนังเรื่อง Pure Country ที่เขาแสดงนำ
